Privacy Policy for Textbook Technology
Last updated: September 15, 2026
Textbook Technology ("we," "us," or "our"), doing business as Textbook Brokers, Campus Bookstore, and affiliated campus stores, respects the privacy of the people who visit our website and use our services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
Information we collect through this website, textbooktechnology.com; and
Information we collect through our text messaging (SMS) program, operated under short code 34728 for Textbook Technology and its affiliated stores.
Our individual campus store websites publish their own privacy policies covering their online ordering and customer account features. If you are shopping on a store website, that store's policy applies to your order, and this policy governs our text messaging program. This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties we do not own or control.
Consent
By using this website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Consent to receive text messages is handled separately: we send text messages only to people who expressly opt in, and your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase. See Phone Numbers & Text Messaging below.
Information We Collect
The personal information you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask for it.
Messages you send us. If you contact us directly, we may receive your name, email address, phone number, the contents of your message and any attachments, and any other information you choose to provide.

Phone Numbers & Text Messaging
We respect your privacy and do not sell or rent your phone number to third parties for marketing or data sales. We do not sell mobile opt-in data or consent to third parties. We may share your phone number with our trusted text messaging service provider solely for the purpose of delivering the messages you have asked to receive. Your number will not be shared for unrelated purposes, and no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Our text messaging program works as follows:
What we send. Messages may include order notifications, promotions, store updates, and related alerts.

Full program terms are available in our Mobile Terms of Service.
Log Files
We follow a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites, and all hosting companies do this as part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring and exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movement on the website, and gather demographic information.
Cookies and Web Beacons
Like most websites, we may use cookies. Cookies store information including your preferences and the pages on the website that you accessed or visited. We use this information to optimize your experience by customizing our web page content based on your browser type and other information.
You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. More detailed information about cookie management for specific web browsers can be found on those browsers' respective websites.
Service Providers and Sharing
We share personal information only as described in this policy. We may share it with service providers who perform work on our behalf — for example hosting and analytics, email delivery, and text message delivery — and only to the extent needed to perform that work. We require these providers to protect your information and to use it only for the services they provide to us.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers or others. If our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, we will provide notice before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete it or remove the details that identify you. Records of text message consent and opt-out are retained as long as needed to document your choice.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us using the details below.
Your Privacy Rights and Choices
You may:
Request access to the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and recordkeeping requirements
Opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email
Opt out of text messages by texting STOP to 34728, as described above
To make a request, contact us using the details in Contact Us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or other applicable privacy laws; we honor those rights where they apply to us.
Children's Information
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Some of the students served by our affiliated stores are under 18, including dual-enrollment students. We do not knowingly enroll a mobile number belonging to a person under 18 in our promotional text message program without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has opted in without your consent, contact us and we will remove the number.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be communicated to you where required by law.
